Prepare-Enrich Councelor & Wedding Officiant

This work is a joy. Meeting, exploring, and deepening relationships with each other in a focused way it important junctures enlivens your future together. For pre-marital, married, or dating couples who want to do this loving work with each other.

Check out https://www.prepare-enrich.com/ to see the program and tools that I use. Our conversations use this as a starting point and follow the path of heart as needed.

I have been doing this work with couples and families since my ministerial internship with the Unitarian Universalist Church of Berkeley in 2007. I am certified in the Prepare-Enrich program for pre-marital and marital conversations and relationship enrichment. I have been doing this since 2008 when I graduated from the Pacific School of Religion.

Modern weddings come in such variety the fun keeps ongoing. As a Unitarian Universalist, I probably get more opportunities to encounter cross-cultural and multi-tradition weddings. I have worked with couples to research and create these unique ceremonies:
  • Chinese Buddhist - Christian Protestant
  • Romanian Orthodox - Hindi
  • Catholic (second marriage w/o annulment of first) bilingual English/Spanish - Agnostic
  • Unitarian Universalist - Jewish (with Ketubot and Chuppah)
  • Jewish-Christian
  • Philipino Catholic (with binding ritual) - Anglo
  • Two men
  • Two Women
  • Blended families with children in the ceremony
  • Hawaiian theme
  • Pagan

Yes, I particularly enjoy the creative process of blending cultures and family traditions into a new uniquely beautiful ritual to fulfill a human need for tradition even as it evolves in our modern multi-ethnic, multi-religious, global community. I feel blessed to be part of these couples' and families' lives for generations to come.

Settings for ceremonies are in such amazing variety. The sanctuary at the First Unitarian Universalist Society of San Fransisco is huge and grand with arched wooden beams and sunlight pouring through the stained glass windows. The hill-top view available from the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Marin is an equally exhilarating location. I have also officiated in people's backyards and living rooms, The Brazil Building in the Berkeley hills, and two "gorilla" weddings in public places without permits. (Think mountain tops and public parks).

It is an amazing blessing to do this work with couples before during and after the ceremony.
